New VidCast Episode: Marco Senaldi

We are thrilled to announce the upcoming conversation with the philosopher, art theorist, and media scholar Marco Senaldi and Spyridon St. Kogkas, dedicated to exploring the heritage of the Italian avant-garde of the 20th, one more vidcast episode of the Imagine Heritage series.

From Futurism’s breaks with tradition, to the experiments of Gruppo 63 and the Neoavanguardia, from the poetic and visual works of Martino Oberto and the Genoese circles, to Arte Povera and the later Transavanguardia, we’ll discuss how these movements transformed language, image, and cultural imagination.

Key questions we’ll explore:

Can we still talk about an “avant-garde spirit” today, or has it become a historical museum piece?

What remains of the radical gestures of poets like Sanguineti, & Oberto?

How did theoretical and semiotic experiments shape not only literature but also contemporary art and media in Europe?

Who inherits these legacies in today’s artistic and critical practices?

This vidcast will be an open dialogue, weaving through literature, visual arts, performance, and theory, a journey through the often “interrupted legacies” of Italian culture.

We can’t wait to share this with you all, especially those interested in avant-garde art, poetics, and cultural theory.
