The Imagine Heritage non-profit organisation asks Rosey Blue questions about the woman of folk tradition, the power of oral legends and myths, the symbolism and their influence on art and our lives. Her profound answers, in a few minutes, encourage us to rethink the importance of Cultural Heritage personally.
Three years after the release of her debut album Swans, Rosey Blue is back with Morning Star, a bold new single released on December 3 across all platforms, along with an impressive cinematic video directed by Thomas Zikos. This single marks a significant shift in her artistic direction, revealing a darker and more mystical side.
Morning Star is a musical and narrative journey inspired by the artist’s personal awakening. The song draws from the figure of the Morning Star, portrayed as a bearer of light and knowledge, blending elements of Promethean myth and spiritual liberation. The lyrics, such as “Hatched from the womb of the universe that moonless night the fallen child was born” reflect Rosey Blue’s connection to this myth, as she was born on a Saturday during a New Moon—a day often linked to cultural superstitions. Through her exploration of esotericism, Rosey Blue expresses a need for rebellion, confronting themes often demonized by religious prejudice.
